Pakistan a nation in South Asia Globally known for supporting terrorist activity around the globe and top hideout of global terrorist like OSAMA bin Laden , Mullah omar , Hafeej saeed ect is also very popular for religious discrimination against minorities living in the country . Even as there is an alarming concern over the outbreak of coronovirus, Pakistan continued to discriminate between its people on the basis of religion as a large number of people belonging to the Hindu , Christian community were denied food supplies.
Most of Hindu population are living in Sindh province of Pakistan which is under lockdown for several days .The Sindh government issued an order to distribute ration through local NGOs and administration to daily wage workers and laborers.
Thousands of poor people had gathered on 29th March at Rehrri Ghoth in Karachi to receive food supplies and daily essentials, however, those belonging to the Hindu and other minority community were told to go back since the rations were only meant for Muslims. A Political activist named Dr AMJAD AYUB MIRJA appealed to India a neighbouring country to intervene without delay and avert a humanitarian crisis in Sindh. There are more than half a million Hindus living in the Sindh province of Pakistan.
Another similiar incident reported On Sunday, April 5, When more than 100 Christian families from Sandha Kalan village, located in the Kasur district of Pakistan’s Punjab province, were excluded from a distribution of food aid. Shahakeel Ahmed, a local Muslim and human rights defender, told ICC that Sheikh Abdul Haleem Hamid, a cleric at the local mosque, decided that the food aid would be distruted to only Muslim families. The aid, collected by a village management committee and mostly made up of foodstuffs, was reportedly designed to be distributed among all the deserving families of the village. However, when the aid was distributed, Sheikh Hamid did not allow even a single Christian family to receive aid.
Ahmed reportedly protested against this discrimination and raised his voice against the decision made by the cleric. However, these protests went unheard.“I condemn this inhumane and discriminatory act by my Muslim village fellows and stand in solidarity with the poor Christian population of the village,” Ahmed told ICC. “Therefore a group of like-minded individuals are collecting donations from liberal Muslims to extend foodstuff to this vulnerable segment; the Christians of this country.
