Secularism in India : The Reality check

The word Secularism stands for the principle of separation of the state from religious institutions. India as a nation doesn't have any State religion and Support harmony and Freedom of all religion since Independence but this word was not in our Constitution during Independence when it was Drafted by B.R.Ambedkar and its committee. This word has been enforced upon us during Emergency in 1976 by 42nd Amendment . Yes, Constitution of a Democratic nation has been changed forcefully without any representation of its people.

Well , People often argue that Secularism represents equality, freedom and diversity of each individuals , Which it does . But the meaning and representation of Secularism in India is very Pseudo  and not even close to what it represents . But before going to Reality check of it Let us talk about some feature about religion and religious freedom in India

1. Every citizen is free to practice their religion .

2. India is home of  Largest Hindu population , Largest Sikh Population , Largest Jain Population , Largest Zoroastrianism (Parsi ) Population , 2nd Largest Muslim  Population , 9th largest Buddhist population and Significant amount of Jews population in the world.

3. The Republic of India recognizes the personal laws of five communities: Hindus (including Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists), Muslims, Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians.

4.India spent Rs 4700 crore  every year on minority welfare .There religion and education center have been protected and promoted .

But still lots of things went wrong in India about secularism:-

Partition of India

The partition of India in 1947 was the division of British India into two independent dominion states, the Union of India and the Dominion of Pakistan. The Union of India is today the Republic of India; the Dominion of Pakistan is today the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.Basically India was divided on the basis of Hindu Muslim Population . Which leads to the Displacement of 14.6 million people , Death of more than 0.5 million and rape and abduction of 30 thousands women of different religion .
While most of the Muslim Population voted in favor of Partition still 10% of total population remains in India which grow to 14% in 2011 . Political Party like Indian Muslim league which was one of the reason of partition still functioning in Kerala and ready to crave another Pakistan whenever get opportunity.

So Unfortunately the Communal divide is the base of the Independence of this Democratic country .Which still runs in the veins of not only Republic of India but Islamic republic of Pakistan and Bangladesh . Which often leads to Prosecution of Minorities in these countries.

Christianity , Crypto Christian and mass conversion

India had been ruled by British for 200 years . They stabilize missionaries to promote Christianity during their rule which is very much in functioning even today. Mass conversion from other religion to Christianity is going in many state in India specially where Tribal Population is more . Taking an example of Arunachal Pradesh where Christian population was below 1% in 1971 which is now above 30% in 2011 .

Christian missionaries mostly target Dalits (SC) , tribals(ST) and people in need for conversion . They even ask them to keep their religion secret or act as Crypyo Christian to keep gaining advantage of Reservation and other benefits provided by Government for Lower caste and deprived people . That is the main reason why Christian Population in India is officially just 2.3% while In Reality it is alomst 6 to 7 % reported by many Christian mouthpiece .
These Christian missionaries are functioning Unchecked since ages with the help of foreign Aid as well as Govt help . Govt of YSR Congress in Andhara Pradesh is one of the many example of missionaries supporting Govt .
Central Govt also get silenced due to fear of foreign backlash from West . Thousands of People (including Professor of JNU , DU , Other Central Universities , Actor , Actress ,Doctor , Writer , Media Person and Activist ) every year get thousands of dollar to help Missionaries in Conversion . Most of them themselves are CRYPTO CHRISTIAN .

Muslim appeasement and Vote bank

When Mamata Banerjee became chief minister of West Bengal  she announced Monthly salary for Imam of Mosque in West Bengal and this was not the first instance when Maulvies or Imam have been provided with perks and money by different political parties.Till 2018 there Pilgrim visit to Mecca was also Subsidised.
Muslim makes 17% of total voters in India which is quite significant in changing the Result of many State election and parliamentary seats. Which make them a chunk of vote bank for different political parties in different state like TMC in West Bengal , RJD and JDU in Bihar , SP in Uttar pradesh .This bland appeasement is no way promote Secular fabric of India .

Secularism can not held its true sense when one side Temples of Hindu are Governed by State while other side  Mosque and Church go unaccountable .One side a single hindu temple paying tax of  more than 100 crore every year ,while other side Mosques and Church have been subsidised . Do you really think Secularism will work in this way ?

Population Bomb

Growing Population is a major problem all over India and across all religion . But most of the religion is growing by the rate of 1.5% per year or below except Muslim which growth rate is 2.4% per year in India . Taking an example of Kerala where Hindu is about 54% , Muslim is 26 % and Christian is about 20 %. Now look at the stats below

Kerala's Percentage Distribution of Live Birth by Religion of the Family

Religion 2017 2016 % 2015 % 2014 %

Hindu 210,071 41.71% 207,831 41.88% 221,220 42.87% 231,031 43.23%

Muslim 216,525 43.00% 211,182 42.55% 213,865 41.45% 218,437 40.87%

Christian 75,335 14.96% 76,205 15.35% 79,565 15.42% 83,616 15.65%

Others 1,497 0.30% 852 0.18% 933 0.18% 1,178 0.22%

Not Stated 160 0.03% 222 0.04% 430 0.08% 196 0.03%

Total 503,597 100% 496,292 100% 516,013 100% 534,458 100%

Here You can see in 2017, Hindu who are 52% of total population gives birth to 41 % children while Muslim who are 26 % of total population contribute in  44% of total child birth. This Data is from the state which has Highest literacy rate . So you can Imagine the state of other states like Assam and West bengal .Liberals and Intellectuals often propagates lies like education and Literacy will help in decreasing Population growth which is quite true for all religion except Islam .

Kashmir and Prosecution of Hindu

Have you heard of any Democratic country where 0.3 million people living as a refugees in their own Country and Government ,Human right activist, Secular , Liberal and all population watching silently . Well this happened and happened Ironically in the Largest Democracy of the world. and the worst part is that they are still living in refugee camps after 30 years of exodus.
In 1989 hundreds of Kashmiri Hindu killed, burned alive, many hindu girl get raped and 300,000 Kashmiri hindu had been thrown out of their Houses and state by Islamic Terrorism .

This was One of the most Painful chapter in the History of Kashmir ,India and Humanity. This is also a dark spot on the So called Secularism and Largest democratic status of India.

Communal violence in India

Independent India have long and bloodiest history of Communal Violence including Politically motivated Anti Sikh riots in 1984 in which 10000 Sikh were killed and 50,000 displaced .1986 Bhagalpur riot , 1992 Mumabai riots , 2002 Gujarat riots are some of the most bloodiest violence of Independent India .

Over 2005 to 2009 period, an average of 130 people died every year from communal riots, and 2,200 were injured.

 Communal Violence in India

Year Incidents Deaths Injured
2005 779 124 2066
2006 698 133 2170
2007 761 99 2227
2008 943 167 2354
2009 849 125 2461
2010 701 116 2138
2011 580 91 1899
2012 668 94 2117
2013 823 133 2269
2014 644 95 1921
2015 751 97 2264
2016 703 86 2321
2017 822 111 2384

Despite the secular and religiously tolerant constitution of India, broad religious representation in various aspects of society including the government, the active role played by autonomous bodies such as National Human Rights Commission of India and National Commission for Minorities, and the ground-level work being done by non-governmental organisations, sporadic and sometimes serious acts of religious violence tend to occur as the root causes of religious violence often run deep in history, religious activities, and politics of India.

So we can see How secularism is just a fairy Tale in this largest democracy . In one Side India is giving shelter to all Prosecuted Minorities in our neighborhood while other side its own people becoming refugees . Vote bank politics ,appeasement and Conversion are great hurdle in achieving secularism in India in true sense .Till then we can just Dream of Communal Harmony .

NRC Assam : Will India Deport 2 million People ?

The National Register of Citizen (NRC) is till date the biggest drive to verify citizenship in India. It is aimed at identifying illegal immigrants who entered and settled in Assam, primarily from Bangladesh, after March 25, 1971 and deport them to their native country. The NRC is a list of people who can prove that they came to Assam before 24 March 1971, a day before India's neighbouring country Bangladesh declared independence from Pakistan. The first NRC was prepared in 1951 on the basis of year's census in Assam. It is the country's only state to create such a document. NRC was created to control unabated migration from Bangladesh. The state is said to have faced longstanding foreigner problem, to remove illegal migrants and arrest further inflow.

Almost 2 million (19 lakh) people in Assam have been excluded from the final version of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam that was released by the government today at 10 am. A total of 33 million  (3.29 crore) people had applied for the NRC, of which 31million (3.11 crore) made it to the final list.

So the questions here today are what will happen to those 2 million (19 lakh ) people who are excluded from NRC ? Will India Deport them ?or they will find a way to Stay here ?

Back Ground  of NRC (National Register of Citizen )

On December 6, 2013, the government issued the first notification setting a deadline of three years for completion of the entire NRC process. Since then, five extensions have been given by the government. The draft NRC was published on July 30 and included the names of  29 million people (2.9 crore) of the total 33 million ( 3.29 crore ) applicants. Here is the complete Timeline of  NRC.

1950: Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act comes into force following influx of refugees from then East Pakistan to Assam after partition.

1951: First Census of Independent India conducted. Based on Census, first NRC compiled.

1957: Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act repealed.

1964-1965: Influx of refugees from East Pakistan due to disturbances in that country.

1971: Fresh influx due to riot and war in East Pakistan. Independence Bangladesh comes into existence.

1979-1985: Six-year-long Assam agitation, spearheaded by the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and All Assam Gana Sangram Parishad (AAGSP) for detection, disenfranchisement and deportation of foreigners.

1983: Massacre at Nellie in Central Assam which claimed the lives of over 3,000 people. Illegal Migrants (Determination by Tribunals) Act passed.

1985: Assam Accord signed by the Centre, the state, AASU and AAGSP in the presence of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. It stated, among other clauses, that foreigners who came to Assam on or after March 25, 1971 shall be expelled.

1997: Election Commission decides to add 'D' (doubtful) against names of voters whose claim to Indian citizenship is doubtful.

2005: Supreme Court strikes down IMDT Act as unconstitutional. Tripartite meeting among Centre, state government and AASU decides to update 1951 NRC. But no major development takes place.

2009: Assam Public Works (APW), an NGO, files case in Supreme Court praying for deletion of foreigners's name in electoral rolls and updation of NRC.

2010: Pilot project starts in Chaygaon, Barpeta to update NRC. Project successful in Chaygaon. Four killed in violence in Barpeta. Project shelved.

2013: Supreme Court takes up APW petition, directs Centre, state to begin the process for updating NRC. NRC State Coordinator's office set up.

2015: Updation of NRC process begins.

2017: On December 31 midnight, Draft NRC published with names of 1.9 crore of total 3.29 crore applicants.

July 30, 2018: Another Draft NRC published, 40 lakh of 2.9 crore people excluded.

June 26, 2019: Publication of Additional Draft Exclusion List of 1,02,462 released.

August 31, 2019: Final NRC released.

So why is it necessary to update NRC in Assam ? and What is the Controversy all about ?

The National Register of Citizens was first prepared in Assam in 1951. The 1951 NRC is said to have covered each and every person enumerated during the Census of 1951 in Assam.
The final list of NRC in Assam comes 14 years after the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh chaired a meeting between the central government, the Assam government and the All Assam Students Union (AASU) where a consensus was developed that the National Register of Citizens should be updated to honour the promises made in the Assam Accord of 1985.
Last year, when the second draft of the NRC was released on June 30, a huge controversy erupted as nearly 4 million people (40 lakh ) people in Assam were excluded from the NRC.
Over the past decades, there were demands that the National Register of Citizens should be updated in Assam. These demands stemmed in the wake of cross-border illegal migration into Assam, primarily from Bangladesh, which has been repeatedly resented by the locals. Opposition to this unchecked illegal inflow of people has resulted in bouts of violence and state-wide protests in the past.
Identification, detention and deportation of such immigrants was a major demand over which the All Assam Students Union (AASU) launched a 6-year movement which ended with the signing of the Assam Accord in 1985.
To prove their citizenship, people in Assam have to show documentary evidence that they or their ancestors were born in Assam before March 25, 1971, which has been set as the cut-off date.
The government says, "The NRC, when updated, shall become an important legal document to fall back upon for a citizen with reference to his/her status of Indian Citizenship."

While the intent of the NRC updating exercise is to identify and possibly deport the so-called illegal migrants, the process and its fallout have become controversial in the recent past.

Besides cases of ordinary people, there have been cases where military veterans, government officials, and even family members of a former President of India and former chief minister of Assam were excluded from the draft NRC list and were forced to prove that they were not "illegal" migrants before the Foreigners' Tribunals.

In other cases, this process has thrown up bizarre situations where a brother finds his name in the NRC list while his sibling gets excluded; or a father makes it to the list but his son doesn't, etc.
Proving one's citizenship is only a part of the NRC process because the government's real intent behind the exercise is to identify "illegal" immigrants and deport them to their native countries. Before being finally deported, those left out in the final NRC will have a chance to present their case before the Foreigners' Tribunals set-up in Assam for the sole purpose of identifying illegal immigrants. If they are identified as "illegal" migrants, they will be locked-up in detention camps, until their deportation. Media reports have been stating that these detention camps are infamous for their inhumane living conditions.

So what will happen to 2million (NRC) people who are excluded from NRC ?

People who have been excluded from the final list of NRC will have to appeal against it at Foreigners' Tribunals (FT)- a quasi-judicial court and subsequently in the high court or Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led Assam government has already ruled out the detention of people who do not figure in the list 'in any circumstances' till the time an FT doesn't declare them foreigners. The government has given 120 days time to those excluded from the NRC to appeal in the court. On the other hand, as per media reports, the courts in India will be burdened and get exhaustive as the appeal period is short and cases are far too many which may further clog the process. At present, there are 100 FTs in Assam and 200 more will be functional soon.
Suppose, someone who loses his or her case in a Foreigners' Tribunal as well as in higher courts, he or she will face a possible arrest and the prospect of being sent to a detention centre.

How those excluded from NRC can back up their claims for inclusion?

Those excluded from NRC will have to prove that they or their ancestors were living in Assam on or before March 24, 1971. Also, anyone who participated in the electoral rolls up to March 24, 1971, or who are descendants of any such citizens, are eligible for inclusion in the updated NRC. Besides, the original documents such as birth certificates and land records - as long as these were issued before the cutoff date, would also be admissible as a proof of citizenship.
Wouldn't those rejected have already submitted the documents to establish their linkage to March 24, 1971?
People who had submitted documents in order to establish their linkage to March 24, 1971 or earlier but still excluded from the NRC list may face an additional problem as their papers were not enough to establish this linkage. Such people face the task of finding documents other than those that were rejected.

Will India Deport them ?

What will happen If even legal recourse fails for the NRC excluded people, would they be deported?

Assam has six detention camps and the government is planning to build more for illegal migrants within existing jails. The state government has proposed to build a seventh detention camp with a capacity for 3,000 people. However, the list of illegal migrants is in millions which these detention centers won't be able to accommodate.

Even If not deported or detained in a camp, such people would officially be entitled as non-citizens. Although, India has no fixed policy for "stateless" persons. The only aspect that is more or less clear here is that a "stateless" person will not have voting rights. As of now, nothing is clear about their rights to work, housing and government healthcare and education. In India, being "stateless" is not the same as being a refugee. At present, India has refugees from Tibet, Sri Lanka (Tamils) and West Pakistan.

Kashmir Conflict : From Switzerland of East to Palestine of South Asia

Once upon a time there was a king named Maharaja Hari Singh . He was the ruler of Kashmir. Kashmir was an ethnically diverse Princely state in Himalayan region, covering around 86,000 sq miles (138 sq km), and famed for the beauty of its lakes, meadows and snow-capped mountains. The king of Kashmir Maharaja Hari Singh wanted to make the State SWITZERLAND OF EAST . But Alas His dream gets over before it can even start and Now It is on the verge of becoming PALESTINE OF SOUTH ASIA  .

Since 1947 Kashmir Conflict has been one of the land dispute between 3 Nuclear Nation India Pakistan and China . India controls approximately 55% of the land area of the region and 70% of its population, Pakistan controls approximately 30% of the land, while China controls the remaining 15%.

73 yrs , 4 wars , Ethnic cleansing of thousands of Kashmiri Pandit and the displacement of another half million ,thousands of people of all religion and region getting killed from insurgency, Pakistan sponsored terrorism and cross border fire but the dispute is far from over. But yes, the dream of making Kashmir  SWITZERLAND OF EAST is definitely over .The Dream of keeping it as a HEAVEN OF EARTH  is also over . Now this is just a piece of land Where 3 Nuclear Nations are fighting for Control without caring much about its people , which makes the current scenario of Kashmir not much better then Palestine , Where large number of casualties of innocent people is very common , Where Human Rights of people is lesser then even Chicken  . That is Why it is now Unofficially becoming  PALESTINE OF SOUTH ASIA .

But before We understand the current scenario we have go back to the History of the Conflict .

 History of Kashmir Conflict

The beginning : India and Pakistan

In 1947 ,Kashmir was a Muslim - majority princely State , ruled by a Hindu king , Maharaja Hari Singh . At the time of Partition of India , Maharaja Hari Singh , the ruler of Kashmir , preferred to remain independent and did not want to join either the Union of India or the Dominion of Pakistan . as I already told you ,he wanted both India and Pakistan to recognise his princely state as an independent neutral country like Switzerland . He wanted to make his state the Switzerland of East since the population of the state depended on tourism and person from all regions could come to an independent Jammu and Kashmir with ease . For this reason , he offered a standstill agreement for maintaining status quo to both India and Pakistan. India refused the offer but Pakistan accepted initially but later made various efforts to persuade the Maharaja of Kashmir to join Pakistan. In July 1947, Mohammad Ali Jinnah is believed to have written to the Maharaja promising "every sort of favourable treatment".

Faced with the Maharaja's indecision on accession, the Muslim League agents in Pakistan clandestinely worked in Poonch to encourage the local Muslims to an armed revolt, exploiting an internal unrest regarding already going on Hindu Muslim riot and economic grievances. Backed by Pakistani Paramilitary forces , PashtunMehsud tribals invaded Kashmir in October 1947 under the code name Operation Gulmarg to seize Kashmir. They reached and captured Baramulla on Oct 25 1947 . Kashmir Security forces were too weak and ill equipped to fight against Pakistan . Troubled by Invasion and finding no other way to protect his kingdom Finally Maharaja Hari Singh signed the instrument of accession to the Union of India and request India to send its troops .The Maharaja signed an instrument of accession on 26 October 1947, which was accepted by the Governor General the next day.National Conference, the largest political party in the State and headed by Sheikh Abdullah, endorsed the accession. In the words of the National Conference leader Syed Mir Qasim, India had the "legal" as well as "moral" justification to send in the army through the Maharaja's accession and the people's support of it.

By the time Pakistani Raiders were close to Capital , Srinagar. The Indian troops, which were airlifted in the early hours of 27 October, secured the Srinagar airport before proceeding to evict the invaders from Kashmir valley . The Indian Troops managed to to evict aggressors from parts of Kashmir but onset of winter made much of state impassable . After months of intense fighting between Pakistan and India , Pakistani Leader and the Indian PM Nehru declared a ceasefire and Sought U.N arbitration with the promise of plebiscite. While Indian Home Minister Sardar patel had argued against both, describing Kashmir as a bilateral dispute and its accession justified by International law .
However ,The UNCIP made three visits to the subcontinent between 1948 and 1949, trying to find a solution agreeable to both India and Pakistan. It reported to the Security Council in August 1948 that "the presence of troops of Pakistan" inside Kashmir represented a "material change" in the situation. A two-part process was proposed for the withdrawal of forces. In the first part, Pakistan was to withdraw its forces as well as other Pakistani nationals from the state. In the second part, "when the Commission shall have notified the Government of India" that Pakistani withdrawal has been completed, India was to withdraw the bulk of its forces. After both the withdrawals were completed, a plebiscite would be held. The resolution was accepted by India but effectively rejected by Pakistan.

Dixon Plan

Sir Owen Dixon of UNCIP offered an alternative proposal, widely known as the Dixon plan. Dixon did not view the state of Jammu and Kashmir as one homogeneous unit and therefore proposed that a plebiscite  limited to the Valley. Dixon agreed that people in Jammu and Ladakh were clearly in favour of India; equally clearly, those in Azad Kashmir and the Northern Areas wanted to be part of Pakistan. This left the Kashmir Valley and 'perhaps some adjacent country around Muzaffarabad in uncertain political terrain.Pakistan did not accept this plan because it believed that India's commitment to a plebiscite for the whole state should not be abandoned. Moreover In !957 ,North-western Kashmir was fully integrated into Pakistan .

Aksai Chin : India ,China  and 1962 War

At one side India and Pakistan were struggling with each other to take full control of Kashmir and fighting it out by both war and Diplomacy and at the other side another part of Kashmir  was Struggling between India and China .

On April 1 1950, India became 16th state to establish diplomatic relation with People's Republic of China . India PM Nehru has also given slogan of  Hindi chini  bhai bhai (Indian Chinese are brothers ) .But these things failed to build trust between India and China .

In 1954 Indian reconnaissance party discovered a completed chinese road running through the Aksai Chin , which India considered its own on the basis of McMohan LIne . But China rejected McMohan Line .
Boarder clashes become frequent in this area and later get converted in war between India and China on October 20, 1962.The PRC pushed the unprepared and inadequately led Indian forces and capture strategic point in Ladakh . Later PRC declared a unilateral cease fire on 21 november and withdrew its forces behind its contended line of control .
The area ASKAI CHIN is still in control of CHINA as of today and one of the boarder dispute between India and China .Another smaller area, the Trans-Karakoram, was demarcated as the Line of Control (LOC) between China and Pakistan, although some of the territory on the Chinese side is claimed by India to be part of Kashmir. The line that separates India from China in this region is known as the "Line of Actual Control".

1965 India Pakistan War and Tashkent Agreement

The 1965 war started when Pakistan launched a guerilla warfare code name Operation Gibraltar , which was designed to infiltrate forces into Jammu and Kashmir to precipitate an insurgency against rule by India. However, the 'Operation Gibraltar' ended in failure as the Kashmiris did not revolt. Instead, they turned in infiltrators to the Indian authorities in substantial numbers, and the Indian Army ended up fighting the Pakistani Army regulars. Pakistan claimed that the captured men were Kashmiri 'freedom fighters', a claim contradicted by the international media. On 1 September, Pakistan launched an attack across the Cease Fire Line, targeting Akhnoor in an effort to cut Indian communications into Kashmir. In response, India broadened the war by launching an attack on Pakistani Punjab across the international border. The war lasted until 23 September, ending in a stalemate. Following the Tashkent Agreement, both the sides withdrew to their pre-conflict positions, and agreed not to interfere in each other's internal affairs.

1971 Indian Pakistan War and Impact on Kashmir Issue

The Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 led to a loss for Pakistan and a military surrender in East Pakistan. Bangladesh was created as a separate state with India's support and India emerged as a clear regional power in South Asia.
A bilateral summit was held at Simla as a follow-up to the war, where India pushed for peace in South Asia. At stake were 5,139 square miles of Pakistan's territory captured by India during the conflict, and over 90,000 prisoners of war held in Bangladesh. India was ready to return them in exchange for a "durable solution" to the Kashmir issue.
Accordingly, the Simla Agreement was formulated and signed by the two countries, whereby the countries resolved to settle their differences by peaceful means through bilateral negotiations and to maintain the sanctity of the Line of Control. Multilateral negotiations were not ruled out, but they were conditional upon both sides agreeing to them. To India, this meant an end to the UN or other multilateral negotiations. However Pakistan reinterpreted the wording in the light of a reference to the "UN charter" in the agreement, and maintained that it could still approach the UN. The United States, United Kingdom and most Western governments agree with India's interpretation.
The Simla Agreement also stated that the two sides would meet again for establishing durable peace. Reportedly Bhutto asked for time to prepare the people of Pakistan and the National Assembly for a final settlement. Indian commentators state that he reneged on the promise. Bhutto told the National Assembly on 14 July that he forged an equal agreement from an unequal beginning and that he did not compromise on the right of self-determination for Jammu and Kashmir. The envisioned meeting never occurred.

Exodus of Kashmiri Hindu

Under the 1975 accord, Sheikh Abdullah agreed to measures previously undertaken by the central government in Jammu and Kashmir to integrate the state into India. Sociologist Farrukh Faheem states that it was met with hostility among people of Kashmir and laid the groundwork for the future insurgency. Those opposed to it included Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir and People's League in Indian Jammu and Kashmir, and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) based in Azad Kashmir. Since the mid-1970s, communalist rhetoric was being exploited in the state for votebank politics. Islamization of Kashmir began during 1980's when Abdullah Government changed the names of about 2500 villages from their native names to new Islamic names. The Sheikh also started delivering communal speeches in mosques similar to his speeches in 1930's.
Additionally, he referred Kashmiri Pandits as “mukhbir” or informers of the Indian government. The Islamists had organised under a banner named Muslim United Front, with manifesto to work for Islamic unity and against political interference from the centre, and contested the 1987 state elections, in which they lost again. However, the 1987 elections were widely believed to be rigged so as to bring the secular parties (NC and INC) in Kashmir at the forefront, and this caused the insurgency in Kashmir. The Kashmiri militants killed anyone who openly expressed pro-India policies. Kashmiri Pandits were targeted specifically because they were seen as presenting Indian presence in Kashmir because of their faith.
In July 1988, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) began a separatist insurgency for independence of Kashmir from India. The group targeted a Kashmiri Hindu for the first time on 14 September 1989, when they killed Pandit Tika Lal Taploo, an advocate and a prominent leader of Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu & Kashmir in front of several eyewitnesses. This instilled fear in the Kashmiri Pandit community especially as Taploo's killers were never caught which also emboldened the terrorists. The Pandits felt that they weren't safe in the valley and could be targeted any time. The killings of Kashmiri Hindus continued that included many of the prominent ones. On 4 January 1990, a local Urdu newspaper, Aftab, published a press release issued by Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, asking all Pandits to leave the Valley immediately. Another local paper, Al Safa, repeated this expulsion order. Explosive and inflammatory speeches were broadcast from the public address systems of the mosques frequently. The sense of vulnerabity and insecurity was exacerbated by attacks on prominent Hindu politicians, postings of hit lists with names of specific Hindu individuals and various violent episodes in Srinagar and other places.
The Hindus of the Kashmir Valley, were forced to flee the Kashmir valley as a result of being targeted by JKLF and Islamist insurgents during late 1989 and early 1990. Of the approximately 300,000 to 600,000 Hindus living in the Kashmir Valley in 1990 only 2,000–3,000 remain there in 2019.
This was One of the darkest chapter in the History of Kashmir ,India and Humanity . This was rarest of the rare moment in the history of human civilization where people of their country were living like refugees in their own country .This is also a dark spot on the So called Secularism and Largest democratic status of India.

Kargil War

During the winter season, Indian forces regularly move down to lower altitudes, as severe climatic conditions makes it almost impossible for them to guard the high peaks near the Line of Control. This practice is followed by both India and Pakistan Army. The terrain makes it difficult for both sides to maintain a strict border control over Line of Control. The insurgents and Pakistani army took advantage of this and occupied vacant mountain peaks in the Kargil range overlooking the highway in Indian Kashmir that connects Srinagar and Leh. By blocking the highway, they could cut off the only link between the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh. This resulted in a large-scale conflict between the Indian and Pakistani armies. The final stage involved major battles by Indian and Pakistani forces resulting in India recapturing most of the territories held by Pakistani forces.
Fears of the Kargil War turning into a nuclear war provoked the then-United States President Bill Clinton to pressure Pakistan to retreat. The Pakistan Army withdrew their remaining troops from the area, ending the conflict.

You can read here Role of America in Kargil war

India regained control of the Kargil peaks and it was 4th time India defeated Pakistan in a war . But Pakistan Never learnt from the Past and keep repeating the Mistakes

Abrogation of 370 and 35 A

Article 370 of the Indian constitution gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir—allowing it to have a separate constitution, a state flag and autonomy over the internal administration of the state. On 5 Aug 2019 the government of India revoked this special status in August 2019 through a Presidential Order and the passage of a resolution in Parliament. This is one of the attempt of Indian Government to fully Integrate Jammu Kashmir in India and promote Equality among gender and Religion .But due this action Kashmir has to be locked down completely. Which is very common here .People here spend more time in Curfew then Normal.

Since 1947 more than 80,000 people have been killed in Kashmir and more than 5 million have been displaced  .Pakistan is openly supporting terrorism there and after abrogation of 370 ,they want to increase Insurgency in J&K.

Now India want to recapture POK (Pakistan occupied Azad Kashmir)  .A Limited war may break out between Two nuclear Nation if this will happen , Which might Accelerat till nuclear exchange .

But there is also Some Good news in Aksai Chin region where No bullets have been fired since 1962 War .We can hope China and India Solve there Problem with Dialogues .

India and Pakistan both countries maintain large army and spend large part of there expenditure on Defense and the Main reason for that is Kashmir .Both countries are Developing country and have large number of people living below poverty line .

We can Just hope one day Pakistan will stop sponsoring terrorism and people of Kashmir will understand where there goodwill  lie and will not get manipulated by Separatist and Terrorist  and that day Kashmir Issue can be solved in true sense. Only a holistic development can bring peace in Kashmir and finally fulfill the dream of Maharaja Hari Singh to make Kashmir Switzerland of East.

In Current scenario  Curfew,Terrorism and cross boarder fire which takes lots of live on daily basis making Kashmir Look like more close to Palestine of South Asia .

We can Just Hope Heaven of the earth Kashmir will raise from this Hell One Day .

South Korea Japan Dispute : New Chapter with Old Links

South Korea on 22nd Aug 2019 scrapped an agreement to share military intelligence with Japan after Japan removed South Korea's favoured trade partners status and
restricted exports of materials critical to South Korea’s high-tech industry, citing national security concern . This is New Chapter added with old links in South Korea Japan Dispute .

So, Is this South Korea Japan Dispute few months or an year old  ?

No, The South Korea Japan Dispute is not a month or an year old but few century old .

The latest tension might stem from a South Korean court ruling last year that ordered Japanese companies to pay compensation to Koreans over forced wartime labour, Where Japaneses firms refused to comply with the court order and have had their assets seized in South Korea.
But the South Korean Court ruling just triggered the Generation Old Wound which began much before even World War 2.

SO What Is the History Of South Korea Japan Dispute ?

Korea japan Relation During Ancient Time

Relations between Korea and Japan go back at least two millennia. After the 3rd century BC, people from the Three Kingdoms (Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla) and Gaya in the Korean Peninsula, started to move southwards into the Kyushu region of Japan. Knowledge of mainland Asia was transmitted via Korea to Japan. According to the description of the Book of Wei, Yamatai-Koku kingdom in Japan and Four Commanderies of Han had diplomatic exchanges around the 3rd century. There are indications of cross-border political influence, but with varying accounts as to in which direction the political influence flowed. Buddhism was introduced to Japan from this Korean monarchy.

Korea Japan Relation During 16th Century

During the Muromachi and Sengoku periods in Japan, pirates sailing from Kyushu attacked ships along the coasts of Korea and China and were feared as Japanese pirates.

In 1592 and 1598, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who had unified Japan, ordered daimyōs (feudal lords) all over the nation to the conquest of Ming Dynasty China by way of Korea, after the latter's refusal to allow Japanese forces to march through, while King Seonjo alerting its Chinese counterpart regarding the Japanese threat. Japan completed the occupation of the Korean peninsula in three months. This was the First Main Chapter in the long South Korea Japan Dispute .
After occupation of Korea, Japan then initiated a series of policies called Sakoku to isolate itself from international world. It forbade Japanese to go abroad in ships, and initiated the death penalty for Japanese returning to Japan from abroad. This ended Japanese piracy definitively. During the Japanese invasion, much of Korea's cultural heritage was destroyed and looted by the invading Japanese armies. Among the atrocities of the Japanese soldiers was the practice of cutting off noses and ears of slain enemy soldiers, which evolved into cutting off those of the living and the civilians in order to fulfill the "kill quota" assigned to the troops. Hence the origin of the Korean saying to misbehaving children, "Ear and nose cutting devils are coming!".After the wars, Korean missions were dispatched 11 times to the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan between 1607 and 1811.

At the end of the 16th century, the Bunroku-Keicho War broke off the relationship between Korea and Japan. However, the Tokugawa shogunate started trading again with Korea by concluding the Treaty of Giyu with the Sō clan of Tsushima Island in 1609, establishing a relationship of near equality through mutual visits of Korean messengers.

Korea Japan relation During 19th century  (Colonial Era and World War)

During 19th Century With the erosion of Qing dynasty influence , Korea began to resist Chinese influence, but also Western and Japanese control. Japan was rapidly modernizing in the second half of the 19th century and showing a keen interest in Korea, especially as it was the closest potential point of expansion directly on the Asian mainland .Joseon Korea came under the Japanese sphere of influence in the Japan–Korea Treaty of 1876 and a complex coalition of the Meiji government, military, and business officials began a process of Korea's political and economic integration into Japan. The Korean Empire became a protectorate of Japan in 1905 in the Japan–Korea Treaty of 1905 and the country was indirectly ruled by the Japanese through the Resident-General of Korea. Japan formally annexed the Korean Empire in 1910 . This is Second time in the History Japan completely occupied Korea .

During the colonial period, more than 100,000 Koreans served in the Imperial Japanese Army. The service of these Korean men was forced upon them, but it is without a doubt that Koreans fought alongside Japanese as allies to battle against the forces of the Allies of World War II also uring the conflict, tens of thousands of women - some say as many as 200,000 - from across Asia were sent to military brothels to service Japanese soldiers. Many of the victims, known as "comfort women", were Korean.
At the end of World War II, Korea regained its independence after 35 years of imperialist Japanese rule. Per the Yalta Conference agreements, Soviet forces accepted surrender of Japanese forces in northern Korea above the 38th parallel, and U.S. forces south of that line. Korea was then divided into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) spheres. South Korea refused diplomatic and trade relations with Japan, using tensions with Japan to rally support for the South Korean government. The early South Korean government derived its legitimacy from its opposition to Japan and North Korea  portraying South Korea as under threat from the North (North Korea) and South (Japan) .

South Korea Japan Relation After World War 2

The diplomatic relationship between Japan and South Korea was established in 1965, when the Treaty on Basic Relations was signed; japan recognized the Republic of Korea (the official name of South Korea) as the only legitimate government on the Korean Peninsula. As such, North Korea does not have official diplomatic ties with Japan. It happens 20 years after Japan's defeat and the end of its occupation of the peninsula, South Korean President Park Chung-hee agreed to normalise relations with the country in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars in loans and grants.Japan also insists this "economic co-operation" pledge settled any claims for wartime reparations or compensation.

But the South Korea Japan Dispute didn't end here, Because the 1965 treaty was deeply unpopular among South Koreans. The democratic reforms of South Korea in the 1990s allowed demonstrators to become far more vocal.
Since 1992, activists for the comfort women have rallied every Wednesday outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul, demanding an apology and reparations for the few dozen Korean comfort women left alive.

In 2015 a Deal was signed between South Korea and Japan. Japan apologised and promised to pay 1bn yen ($9.5m, £7.9m) - the amount South Korea asked for the victims (Comfort women ).
That time Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said  "Japan and South Korea are now entering into a new era ,We should not drag this problem into the next generation." In the Hope to finally End the South Korea Japan Dispute . But activists said they were not consulted, and rejected the deal. In 2017 The new elected President of South Korea Moon Jae-in , suggested the deal should  be altered.

South Korea Japan Dispute Now

After Rejection of 2017 deal and South Korean court ruling in 2018 that ordered Japanese companies to pay compensation to Koreans over forced wartime labour, Both South Korea and Japan are in No mood for compromise .The historic South Korea Japan dispute rumbles on, with neither country looking likely to bend. They keep adding New chapters with old Links .

The South Korea Japan Dispute  is “a lose-lose proposition”not only for Both the countries But also for the Whole World  as it comes amid an ongoing global trade war that the U.S. and its trading partners are embroiled in.South Korea and Japan are large exporters of products such as gadgets ,smartphone ,chips etc. An escalated trade fight between the two could be bad news for the global technology industry and consumers may end up having to pay more for products.
As USA and China Both trying hard to meditate due to there own reasons But It Look like this will only get worse .Both Countries already removed favoured  trade partner status of one another.

Now We can Only Hope that South Korea and japan finally end there Book of Dispute and Write a New book with Chapters of friendship and Improved Relations away from the Shadow of past .As it will not only help both Countries But also the Whole World .There close cooperation is critical for Economy and Regional Security .

Greenland : Fantasy of Trump and America

On 15th august Thursday, a report was published by the Wall Street Journal that President Donald Trump has expressed interest in buying Greenland , a long time Fantasy of people of America .Some of Trump advisers supported the concept, saying it’s a good economic play, while others have dismissed it as being unrealistic, the WSJ reported. Some sources Confirm to WSJ that buying Greenland will help Trump to win another term, Atleast President Donald Trump think so .But In clear term Greenland's local government has told him that Greenland is not for sale.

So before going further let us talk about some fact of Greenland.

Greenland is the Largest ISLAND in the world  and an autonomous part of kingdom of  Denmark located between Arctic and Atlantic ocean .Greenland is a Semi- self-ruling country which foreign and security policy is controlled by Denmark .
Contrary to its Name Greenland it is not Green at all.Greenland is covered with massive ice sheet spans 660,200 square miles -- nearly 80% of the country's surface. It's freezing nearly year-round. That is why only 20% of the country's 836,300 square miles is inhabited by humans and some 56000 people live there .

The society of Greenland follows Socialism, The country provides free health care, public education and pensions for all of its citizens, paid by Danish subsidies, The Economy of  Greenland is largely dependent upon fishing , which accounts for more than 90% of Greenland's exports.

The biodiversity of Greenland contains some 700 known species of insects, large amount of fish in sea and few hundreds polar bear ,arctic fox and musk ox ,which is very very low compared with biodiversity other countries.

So question arises here why Americans have been trying to buy this piece of biggest Iceberg in the world Since 1867 ?

Yes , Donald Trump is not the only American president  who tried to buy Greenland .

Abraham Lincoln's secretary of state, William Seward was the first major Us office holder who considered the idea of buying Greenland in 1867. The deal failed due to Denmark government ,who intially show interest to sell it for decreasing its expenses but later pulled out .

President Harry Truman  also reportedly tried to buy Greenland in 1946 but he also not able to do that ..

So Greenland has always been in the fantasy of American and its office bearer since 19th century and the reason they used to give is -

1. Greenland's  strategic importance -  Since Greenland is situated between Arctic and Atlantic ocean . Us military already operates an air base in the northwestern coast of Greenland a part of defense agreement with Denmark.Thule Air Base is the U.S. military’s northernmost base and the only installation north of the Arctic Circle. It is home to the 12th Space Warning Squadron, a cadre of Air Force officers and enlisted personnel that provide 24/7 missile warning and space surveillance using a massive AN/FPS-132 radar.Thule’s position on the globe and its radar’s 240 degrees of coverage — which projects over the Arctic Ocean and Russia’s northern coast — make it an ideal location to track intercontinental ballistic missiles and satellites in low-Earth orbit, including polar orbit satellites.
So look like US Military is not satisfied by just one base .They want it all.
Since China is also repeatedly attempting to gain infrastructure in Greenland. In 2016 China Tried to Buy an Old US Military base to increase its importance in region but Denmark vetoed it . Since 2018 a Chinese govt firm building a airport there . These things will further put pressure on Pentagon to increase its Control over the Island .

2.Greenland's Vast Natural Resources - Lots of Geographical Survey in this region suggested that there is a huge amount of Natural resources especially Natural Gases are present in Greenland . USA ( TRUMP) want to Explore those Resources .Since American love Natural Resources , They can go to any Extent to get it,  Most of the time  they destroy the whole country (Like - IRAQ ,Syria ) to get the Natural Resources .People of Green land are lucky that American are trying to buy them not destroy them .

According to Greenland 's Government Greenland is not for sell right Now , But what will happen in the future is yet to be seen . But One thing is Clear that due to Increasing Strategic competition in Arctic Reason and Huge natural Resources of Greenland, It will always remain  the Fantasy of President and People of America to buy this Island country .

TRUMP'S AMERICA No Longer Behaves As a SUPERPOWER

After DONALD TRUMP Became 45th President of USA,  He Promised to make America great again. His promises Started to look real When in His Tenure Unemployment rate started to fall and GDP growth picked up. But Since last year His few Decision backfires. Which will Not only going to Harm USA Credibility to handle its Allies But at some point of time will also question its LONE SUPERPOWER Status.

1. Recognition of JERUSALEM as Capital Of ISRAEL :-

On December 6 last year, Trump recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital in a controversial move, prompting international criticism and sparking protests across the world. The matter went to UN and America lost overwhelmingly 128-9 . This was one of the rarest of rare occasion when so many countries including Many NATO members (UK, Germany ) voted against Lone SUPERPOWER of the World. Nevertheless USA went ahead in its Decision, But It was quite Humiliating for it in the World forum.

2.TARIFFS AND TRADE WAR:-

Since Last Few Months President Donald Trump has opened trade battles with CHINA, CANADA, EU ,INDIA and other countries and the next two months could decide whether the US ends up in a full blown trade war on several different fronts.Well Trade Battle is not new for USA , it has Indulged in it with Russia many times since COLD WAR . It would have been understandable If  TRUMP has gone Behind China due to very high TRADE DEFICIT and GLOBAL RIVARLY . But going Behind its natural ally EU, Neighbor and close ally CANADA and a developing country and regional Ally INDIA are quite amusing and laughable . Because It is reducing USA from MOST POWERFUL ECONOMY to A MIDDLE CLASS BARGAIN AUNTY who Bargains with Street vendors for every single pie.

TRUMP's  other decision including Probable fall out of USA -IRAN Nuclear Deal and His half backed jokes on world leaders including one when he threatened to send 25 million Mexican to japan, felt like He was trying really hard to convert all USA friends and allies into its Enemies and competitors. These things will not only reduce importance of USA as a Global leader But will also Convert USA From  LONE SUPERPOWER to ALONE SUPERPOWER which will no longer get special treatment as a BIG BROTHER in the World forum .

Why more black people are dying in America ?
